Peridot and diamond ring

peridot
Square cut peridot weighing 13.59 carats mounted in 18ct yellow gold, each shoulder set with a baguette cut diamond.
The attraction of the peridot lies in its rich golden green colour. It was originally found on St. John's Island in the Red Sea and appeared in Western Europe at the time of the Crusades. It is sometimes called "the emerald of the Crusaders". It came into greater popularity during the Edwardian period.
Peridot is the August birthstone.
